Urban Mirror reinterprets the traditional figure of the silent servant as a contemporary object placed in the city. When approaching the object, the user first meets their own reflection, a visual greeting. In an urban context, the mirror absorbs and returns the environment around it, turning the street, the graffiti, the passing light into part of the object itself.
Made from a single continuous sheet of stainless steel, combining a brushed surface with a polished reflective center. The reflective quality is drawn directly out of the material through a multi-step sanding process, from grit 80 to 3000, and finished with a fleece disc and polishing compound.
